For translations and copy-editing work, I follow the recommended fees of the German Interpreter's and Translator's Association (BDÜ) and the Association of Independent Editors (VFLL).

In Germany, translations are usually calculated on a 'line' basis (55 characters). Other arrangements can be made depending of the type and scope of the work for example on a per word basis or an hourly rate.

As a general rule: Approx 2,000 words source text per day can be translated. I always appreciate sufficient notice for large projects so I can incorporate them into my existing commitments. Please send me a precise request with a sample of your source text. I will then prepare a suitable proposal straight away.

You have a particularly urgent request? Translation of simple texts can often be carried out on the same day. You can also expect confidentiality and complete reliability on meeting deadlines.
